Sivers Semiconductors AB (“Sivers”) today announces that its business unit, Sivers Wireless, has received an additional purchase order of 1.4 MUSD (approximately 15.8 MSEK) from a European satellite communications company. The order, for its production grade beamformer ICs, follows an earlier communicated acceleration fee and is aimed towards the customer’s pre-series production of ground-based satellite communication terminals.
The purchase order is also in addition to an earlier order received by MixComm (now a part of Sivers Wireless) worth $594k USD that is yet to be delivered, bringing the total value of volume production orders to approximately $2M. Deliveries are scheduled for Q4 2022 and will continue through Q3 2023, with the revenue recognized over that period amounting to approximately $1.7M USD.
“This order is yet another important step towards the customer’s full-scale production. Even if the order is for pre-series production, the monetary value is substantial, showing significant volume demand for our market leading beamformer ICs. The order certainly gives an indication of what true high-volume production can mean, and we are working very closely with this customer to make it a reality,” said Anders Storm, Group CEO of Sivers Semiconductors.
In late September, Sivers communicated purchase orders totalling 900 000 USD from the same customer (including an acceleration fee of 150 000 USD (approximately 1.7 MSEK) and orders of engineering design activities of 750 000 USD (approximately 8.4 MSEK)). The customer is a previous MixComm customer (MixComm is now part of Sivers Wireless).
