Sivers IMA Holding is proud to announce that CST Global (CST), a subsidiary of Sivers IMA Holding, has received £83,774 GBP (approx. KSEK 900)) from the British government to lead the “Quantum Cooling using Mode Controlled Blue Lasers” project, known as CoolBlue2.
The total project budget is £499,076, with government funding covering more than 80 percent of the project’s cost. The project will run from April 2018 to March 2019.
Dr. Thomas Slight, Research Engineer at CST Global, will manage the “CoolBlue2” project, alongside commercial partner Helia Photonics Ltd., research partner National Physical Laboratory Ltd., and academic partners, the University of Glasgow and Aston University.
The CoolBlue2 project is a continuation of the development of next-generation, GaN laser technology. It will investigate the feasibility of developing a fully monolithic, narrow linewidth, GaN DFB laser suitable for evaluation in a real-world, low-cost, integrated system.
