Our team of over 130 staff are working across roles in R&D, wafer fabrication and backend assembly & test, as well as in various commercial roles.

Role

We are seeking an exceptional ASIC Architect with strong expertise in high-level digital design, micro-architecture development, and RTL implementation to join our team. In this role, you will define, architect, and implement advanced digital subsystems within complex mixed-signal ASICs.

You will work closely with systems engineers, analog/mixed-signal designers, and verification teams to translate product requirements into robust, scalable hardware architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Specification

  • Develop chip-level and subsystem-level architecture based on system requirements and product specifications.
  • Create micro-architecture definitions for digital blocks and mixed-signal interfaces.
  • Author detailed digital subsystem specifications for integration into mixed-signal ASICs.
  • Drive architectural trade off analyses, including performance, area, power, and feasibility.

Design & Implementation

Translate high-level architecture into well-structured RTL implementations (SystemVerilog/VHDL).

  • Develop state machines, datapaths, control logic, and interfaces for on-chip digital logic.
  • Collaborate with analog and mixed-signal teams in defining digital/analog boundary conditions, signal conditioning, calibration engines, and control logic.

Verification & Quality

  • Work with verification engineers to define verification plans, testbench strategies, and coverage requirements.
  • Participate in simulation, debug, and bring-up of RTL blocks.
  • Support synthesis, timing closure, and design-for-test (DFT) integration.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with system architects, firmware teams, and validation teams to ensure end-to-end functionality.
  • Support silicon bring-up, lab debugging, and customer-related feature validation.

Experience

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in ASIC architecture or digital design roles.
  • Proven experience defining micro-architecture from high-level specifications.
  • Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog or VHDL for RTL design.
  • Experience with simulation, verification, and debugging methodologies.
  • Understanding of mixed-signal ASIC design, including ADC/DAC interfaces, clocking, SERDES, or calibration engines, is a plus.
  • Experience with high-performance datapaths, DSP blocks, or hardware accelerators.
  • Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up and lab debug.
  • Working knowledge of Python, C, or MATLAB for modeling or verification.
  • Background in mixed-signal control systems, analog calibration, or digital wrappers for RF/analog ICs is a plus.

Personal Fit

  • Open, pragmatic, team player
  • Willingness to support and challenge, and to be supported and challenged.
  • An ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Disciplined, diligent and hard working with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent telephone manner with proven verbal and written communication skills, demonstrable at all levels of a business
  • Enthusiastic, with a high degree of commitment to personal development, and a passion for achieving success.
  • Result orientated with sense of urgency whilst quality conscious.
  • Be willing to uphold company standards, act as a role model and take ownership.
